ECOLOGICAL SANCTUARY  Prado, with an area of 1.670,10 Km ², has a population of 24.805 people, and it is so enchanting that makes you forget the whole world and just want to stay there forever. Prado is exactly in the border, between the Coast of discovery and Coast of Whales, and proudly, at the Estuary of the Caí River, is the place where there was the first contact between the Indians and the squadron of Pedro Álvares Cabral, before he reached Porto Seguro. This motive of pride for the community of Prado, was recognized by the Federal Government according to the Presidential decree n. º 1.874, in April 22, 1996: “Prado is the spot where the Portuguese and Indians, for the first time, exchanged presents, as shown in the letter by Pero Vaz Caminha”. Also in that region, is the Historical farm, very well preserved, in its landscape aspects, and it is the only place where "Monte Pascoal" mount can be seen in its full magnitude. Area / Project: The “Ecological Sanctuary Indian Port” project, strongly inserted into the tourism politics of the city of Prado, will articulate a structure of theme parks, eco resorts and hotels, etc. The implementation of the “Ecological Sanctuary Indian Port” project will be realized slowly, in distributed areas between farms with native forests, with preserved fauna and flora, an island, and even a reef of more than 6 kilometers of beautiful beaches. The project will count, initially, with 850 livable units, distributed in: 1 Safari-hotel, which will be built with a golf course, 200 apartments, in one of the farms, 1 spa with 50 apartments and will also have a geriatric clinic. The first of three Ecological Resort Hotels, were built within an area of 6 kilometers in length, all facing the beach and containing a total of 400 apartments. There are plans for further construction of more resorts, partnered with national and international groups. They will always remain faithful to the project’s philosophy- rustic simplicity, comfort, preservation of nature, peace and tranquility, in an environment where family will be the focus of all attention. One eco-resort hotel, with 200 apartments that will be constructed in the already existing “Ilha da Alegria” (“Happiness Island”), in which will be installed a center of conventions, with all the services and equipment necessary, including a main auditorium for 1000 participants. The “Ecological Sanctuary Indian Port” Project already consists of a marine and a working shipyard, of international standards. The access to the Ecological Sanctuary will be via a river or by electric car, which its departure and arrival will be and lead to the reception of the resorts. At this place, there will be a belvedere where the whole enterprise can be seen. There will also be a lighthouse and navigation assistance. The landing track will be located close by at the “Ponta da Barra” for small aircrafts, which will serve the guests of the “Ecological Sanctuary Indian Port” exclusive.
